BrodiMapi LLC -
Founder and CEO

Gabrielle McGinnis, Ph.D., BrodiMapi LLC Founder and CEO

Gabrielle was born in Gallup, New Mexico at the Gallup Indian Medical Center where her father worked. She hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico where her parents live today and where the LLC is based. She is of Sioux and Welsh ancestry and is passionate about heritage conservation, namely wildlife, language and cultural conservation as well as Indigenous empowerment through conservation and tourism.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Animal Behaviour, Environmental Sciences and Anthropology from the University of San Diego, California. She spent a gap year back home in Albuquerque volunteering as a docent for the Albuquerque BioPark's Rio Grande Zoo and as an adoptions and vet assistant for the Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department. After completing her masters in tourism from NYU in NYC, Gabrielle moved to her childhood dreamland of Australia to pursue her Ph.D. in Anthropology and Sociology at the University of Newcastle, where she conducted fieldwork in the Grampians and Tower Hill National Parks of Victoria as well as with the Wagiman Elders and residents of Pine Creek in the Northern Territory.

It was only after completing the Ph.D., and bouncing around the globe, that she decided to start her own digital PGIS mapping consultancy that focused on similar projects to those she conducted with the Aboriginal communities of Australia. PGIS stands for "Participatory" GIS and is, by nature, community-based, acting as an empowerment tool for communities and all stakeholders. Gabrielle provides resources and skills to communities and individuals who are dedicated to sharing their knowledge of the local wildlife, landscape, language and culture for long-term.

With the LLC, Gabrielle now travels frequently between the USA, Europe and Australia and hopes to bring her digital mapping, engagement and marketing skills to many people, communities and natural areas far and wide to foster heritage conservation and community empowerment through her consultancy's services.
