Ever worry that you don't know enough about your family's history? Or ever regret or worry that you don't have enough time to listen to your Elders' life stories or stories about culture, language or your land? Then we can help you preserve it, pass it down to your children and other future generations and even have the chance to visit the places that are significant to your family and its history. Our family history preservation and mapping service includes sitting down one-on-one in person, on the phone or online and recording (audio and/or video) your Elders' stories about their lives and your family. We offer the option of even recording on-site about places that are of significance to your family if we are currently located in your area. We also welcome the addition of old family photos, videos and other heirlooms which we can upload to a digital platform and/or take pictures of to upload to the digital platform. After recording and gathering media about your family's oral histories, we can create an interactive map of the recordings - where they took place or where the context of the story takes place - so that you, your children and their children can listen to these stories, read about them, watch the videos and/or visit the places on the map. We also offer the options of creating a website archive of these maps and recordings for you and/or your family to either use privately, or share with other members of your family and friends. Alternatively, we also offer the option of training you to record your family histories yourself using recording devices, mapping software, and/or affordable and user-friendly website development skills.
